Danielle Heilweil

LPC, LPAT, ATR-BC

Hi, I’m Danielle.

I’m so glad you’re here. I have two primary goals in us working together; 1) to make starting therapy feel as comfortable and safe as possible, and 2) to help you accomplish significant, enduring change.

I strive to build genuine and meaningful relationships with my clients. I do not hide behind a professional mask, or respond with vague answers. I show up as my authentic self, just as I’m asking you to. You deserve to have a real sense of who you’re putting your trust in, and also receive direct, supportive feedback.

I won’t miss a beat when it comes to cheering you on or being in your corner. During more difficult moments, know that I will be present and listen intently with compassion and support. When appropriate, I will also not shy away from gently challenging you.

We will work together as a team to accomplish your goals and make long-lasting, positive change in your life.

My Journey To Becoming A Counselor

I know first hand from childhood social anxiety, to panic attacks in young adulthood, and the classic, “what if” rabbit holes, how anxiety can lead us to being misunderstood, create feelings of isolation, and severely limit our lives. I also understand how scary and uncomfortable starting therapy can be (because I’ve been in that chair as well!), and this greatly informs my approach to ensure you feel safe, heard, and respected in our sessions together.

I am dedicated to helping you realize that gaining relief from anxiety is possible, and you are capable of overcoming your fears.

Helping People Is Deeply Rewarding

As a therapist, my clients choose to invite me into their inner world and share the most vulnerable parts of themselves with me. I consider this the highest privilege.

I value being able to help people recognize their own strengths and innate capacity for growth, and to witness people step into their authentic selves with self-compassion and grace. It is exceptionally rewarding as individuals realize they are more capable and courageous than they would have ever imagined was possible.

My Core Philosophies

  • You deserve to feel relief from anxiety, and are worthy of receiving support.

  • Small steps in the right direction lead to the biggest end results.

  • You are more capable and stronger than you realize.

  • It’s possible to overcome anxiety and live a joyful life.
