Well-intentioned advice, such as, "don't worry so much," compounds your suffering, now feeling like anxiety is somehow your fault.
Anxiety is not a reflection of weakness, a lack of effort, or an indication that you are “too sensitive.” Your brain is simply doing its job a little too intensely, trying to protect you by staying on high alert, even when there’s no real danger. Because this response is tied to survival instincts, it's difficult to break this pattern on your own.
The good news is that anxiety is highly treatable. In therapy, we’ll work together to develop practical strategies to help you feel calmer, more present, and in control. The goal is not just to make life feel more manageable, but to help you build a life that feels joyful and fulfilling too.
